E-Commerce Price Plans Shake-Up
I’m re-arranging my chess pieces on the board in light of the new era of e-commerce that’s dawning in Trinidad & Tobago. I’m completely dropping the Big Commerce hosted shopping cart package in favor of a second Magento E-Commerce platform option.
I’ll still have 3 E-Commerce packages: one WordPress and now two Magento. However I’m going on an all out blitz to push Magento, and not because it’s expensive, but because, financially painful as it is for you, I know you’ll thank me down the road.
I’m also streamlining my Magento package structure to make it easier for you to evaluate. I’m under no illusions that price isn’t your first compelling factor so I’m going to give it you straight off the bat by including all the ‘hidden’ costs into my published price.
By hidden costs I’m referring to the additional third party costs that are in addition to my website design fee— those that cause your final out of pocket costs to be higher.
I don’t anticipate that this move will impact me negatively but it’s a risk I’m willing to take. The way I see it is that it will give you a dollar value to bear in mind as you allocate (or locate!) your funding.
It will most likely reduce inquiries but only those that would have stopped there anyway. Eventually, only qualified leads would call me when ready to commit. I practice what I preach- position site for QUALIFIED TRAFFIC.
ADVANCE NOTICE: Price Packages go up on 1st June, 2014
Magento is a lot of work and takes a lot more time than WordPress. There are two reasons why I have to revise my pricing structure:
1. Amount of work I can personally handle
My key selling point is me and there are only so many hours in the day. In between meeting clients, sitting behind the computer, family time, and free time so I don’t go crazy, I have to ensure that all projects get quality attention. I’ve started putting things in place to spin-off some commodity tasks to free up time but it also will cost to do so. To achieve this I’ll have to find a suitable price point.
2. Focus on a core group of Magento sites
I see E-Commerce in Trinidad & Tobago fully changing the complexion of local shopping. I see room for many online stores but only a few will dominate and I intend them to be those of my clients. Many will want to be the local Amazon and I intend to assist those who want it bad.
As more Magento sites launch I won’t want too many clients’ sites competing against each other except for healthy competition, so I’ll be selective of these projects.
2 All-inclusive Magento Plans from June 2014
My two plans will have their pricing tied up in nice little bows. Third party costs will still have to be paid by you but your costs will not exceed my stated packages and will be the total cost to get your online store up and ready for your first order. The packages are:
Magento E-Commerce STANDARD PACKAGE
This package is for what are called ‘simple products’ that are without attributes like size and color for example. Populating such a store is easier than with ‘configurable products’ where customers can select options. It includes everything you need like I said: domain, website, VPS hosting, SSL Certificate, FAC Payment Gateway integration for payment in TT Dollars. Tentative cost: $30K
Magento E-Commerce PREMIUM PACKAGE
This package is for the more complex configurable products and includes the above. Tentative cost: $50K
Conclusion
There’s no room for ‘trying a ting’ when so much money is ‘jumping up’ so if you’re serious about e-commerce for the long term, now is the time to call me.
